Funds for this event go to support the Lawrence Basketball program including all the programs that are designed to build life skills for the kids.  Specifically, the funds are going to support the “additional” programs which cost approximately $20,000 annually.  These are life skill programs such as trips to local colleges, guest speakers, food/clothing for certain student-athletes (based on need), transportation and fees for summer programs held at times designed to keep the youth off the streets engaged in positive, constructive activities. 

In the words of the student-athlete, Lawrence High School Boys Basketball means..."The team helped me in many ways. In the three aspects that most matter to me, as a person, student, and an athlete. I saw myself rising in these three categories. As a person, I developed more discipline. As a student, I became motivated. And as an athlete, I became a harder worker."-J.V.
